POSITION: SENIOR UNIX ADMINISTRATOR

Our client is the nation's leading partner with public schools and school districts focused on raising student achievement.

The Senior Unix administrator will provide support and direction for a growing Sun Solaris environment working from our client's NY Headquarters. Candidate must have experience installing and configuring Checkpoint firewalls.
The Senior Unix administrator will provide support and direction for a growing Sun Solaris environment working from our client's NY Headquarters. Candidate must have experience installing and configuring Checkpoint firewalls.
Qualifications / Required Skills:
Minimum of 7 years experience in providing Sun Solaris support
Experience in Solaris versions 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7 on Sun E450, E5xxx platforms
Experience with Netscape/iPlanet Messenger, Enterprise
Working experience with Veritas Volume Manager and NetBackup
Strong detail orientation to procedures and documentation; able to document procedures
Self-motivated, ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent trouble-shooting, communication and customer service skills
Experience Required:
· Disaster Recovery Planning minimum of 5 years current experience, including risk assessment, strategy development, testing & program management.
· Demonstrated ability to manage disaster preparedness/recovery programs and knowledge of disaster recovery methodology.
· Proven motivational skills, managing both local and remote teams.
· Excellent communications skills including presentation of proposals & reporting at senior business management level, conflict-resolution & proven influencing & negotiation skills.
· A team player supportive, sharing of ideas and experience.
· Strong project and team management skills.
Education:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
